Chrome extension · Manifest V3

Stop spending Upwork Connects on jobs that were never going to hire.

Upwork Job Scorer adds a 0–10 score to jobs already on the page, hides the ones below a threshold you set, and can alert you when a saved search has something new. A proposal draft, if you want one, uses your own xAI key. You copy it yourself. The extension never submits a bid or types into Upwork.

No account and no backend. Scoring, the hide filter, the Connects estimate, and Chrome alerts do not need an API key.

Jobs hiddenShow

Illustration only, not a live job and not a prediction. On a real Upwork page the badge opens a breakdown of these signals, and a chip can show hidden jobs again.

Product

What it does

It works on Upwork search, Find Work, and job pages. Everything described here stays in the extension on your computer.

  • It never bids, messages, or submits.
  • Alerts run only while Chrome is open.
  • Connects saved is an estimate, not Upwork’s ledger.

0–10 score badge

Each job card gets a score from signals already on the page. Click the badge for the breakdown: payment verified, client spend, hire rate, proposal count, country, budget, rating, and posting age. Weights are yours to change. If Upwork redesigns those pages, badges can disappear until the extension is updated.

Hide below a threshold

The popup sets “hide jobs below X”. Jobs under that score drop off the list. Hidden jobs can be shown again from a chip on the page.

Connects saved estimate

A counter estimates what you kept by skipping hidden jobs. It uses the job’s own Connects price when that price is on the page, otherwise 8. It does not go down if you show a job again, and it is not Upwork’s ledger.

Saved-search Chrome alerts

Save an Upwork search URL. While Chrome is open, the extension checks saved searches one at a time, about every 5–10 minutes with jitter, up to 8 searches in a cycle, and raises a Chrome notification for a new job at or above your alert score. The first check only notes jobs already listed. With many saved searches, a given search is not checked on every cycle. Chrome can delay alarms when the computer sleeps. If a check hits a login wall or a page with no job cards, the popup shows an error and does not notify.

Optional Telegram alerts

Telegram is off unless you enable it. Alerts then use your own bot token and chat ID. The extension does not include a Telegram account.

AI proposal first draft

On a job page, Draft proposal asks Grok, or another OpenAI-compatible model you configure, for an editable first draft. You copy it yourself. Nothing is typed into Upwork and nothing is submitted. Drafts are a Pro feature. You paste your own xAI API key. No key is included, and xAI bills that usage, not us. A draft can be wrong. You review it before you use it.

On the page

What the score looks at

The score uses signals already visible on the job. It does not submit anything back to the form. Country is a small nudge toward the places you list. A missing country is treated as neutral.

  • Payment verified
  • Client spend
  • Hire rate
  • Number of proposals
  • Client country
  • Budget or hourly rate
  • Client rating
  • How recently the job was posted

Private by design

Your keys stay in this browser

There is no account and no backend. The extension does not phone home with your jobs, scores, or keys. The privacy policy is the full account of this.

  • Settings, weights, saved searches, seen jobs, scores, your xAI key, and your Telegram token are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device.
  • That storage is not encrypted. Anyone with access to the browser profile can read it.
  • We do not collect, sell, or receive that data.
  • Upwork pages are read in your own session. Saved searches are fetched with that session.
  • Job text is sent to api.x.ai only when you click Draft proposal, using your key — or to another OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configure.
  • Telegram (api.telegram.org) is contacted only if you enable it.

FAQ

Questions

Is it safe for my account, and what about Upwork’s terms?

The extension does not bid, message a client, type into Upwork, or submit a proposal. You copy a draft yourself if you use one. Saved-search checks fetch the search URL with your own Upwork session, and only while Chrome is open. Upwork’s terms may restrict automated access. You are responsible for using the extension within those terms. Read the Upwork section of the Terms.

Where is my data?

On your device. Settings, weights, saved searches, seen jobs, scores, your xAI key, and your Telegram token are stored in chrome.storage.local. That storage is not encrypted. Anyone with access to the browser profile can read it. There is no account and no backend, and we do not collect, sell, or receive that data. Job text leaves your browser only when you click Draft proposal, and Telegram is used only if you turn it on. The privacy policy covers storage, third parties, and payments.

Do I need an API key?

Not for scoring, the hide filter, the Connects estimate, Chrome alerts, or one saved search. AI drafts are a Pro feature and need your own xAI API key, or another OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configure. No key is included. xAI bills your usage, not us. Create a key at console.x.ai. Telegram, if you enable it, uses your own bot token and chat ID.

Does it work when Chrome is closed?

No. Saved-search checks and Chrome notifications run only while Chrome is open. Chrome can also delay them when the computer sleeps. Scoring a page happens when that Upwork page is open.

How do I cancel Pro?

You can cancel anytime. Email rahul.dev.240801@gmail.com and ask to cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and access continues until then. Details are in Cancellation.

What is the refund policy?

You can request a refund within 14 days of your first purchase. You can cancel anytime, and access continues until the end of the paid period. The policy is in the Terms.
